Market Risk Analyst

Responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities:
- To prepare and provide comprehensive analysis of the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) Report and other regular reports, covering, inter alia ALM, rate of return risk in the Banking Book, liquidity risk management and trading risk management.
- To review and enhance risk control tools, methodologies and reporting pertaining to market risk management, and align risk appetite and strategy through better evaluation of risk / rewards profiles.
Supporting Activities:
- To assist the Head of Market Risk Management to review and enhance policies/guidelines pertaining to market risk management on a regular basis.
- To assist Market Risk Analytics Team to conduct the validation of all market risk models in use on a regular basis, in line with internal requirements as well as international best fit practices. This will include expression of opinion regarding the accuracy of models and parameters, assumptions, homogeneity across portfolio and time, out-of-time and out-of-sample reviews, benchmarking of portfolio against external references.
- To provide expert advice in matters pertaining to market risk to the business and support units within the Bank.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree holder in quantitative (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance) disciplines from a reputable and recognized university.
- Minimum of 4 years (DM) or 6 years (M) of relevant working experience.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and self starter with positive attitude and able to work under pressure.
- Able to work in a team as well as independently, with minimum supervision.
- Resourceful and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Proactive in resolving issues.
